Submarine ESG Report 2024: Another Year of Positive Impact

posted in category News, Social responsibility

In 2024, Submarine once again proved that responsible business and top-quality burgers across Croatia and Romania can go hand in hand. The latest ESG report shows strong progress in sustainability, innovation and social responsibility, further strengthening Submarine’s leading position in the industry.

Through advanced resource-management practices and circular processes, Submarine avoided nearly 1,000 tCO₂e emissions by converting bio-waste and oil into biogas — a sustainability achievement the company is extremely proud of. Out of 89.5 tons of generated waste, as much as 82.5 tons was recycled, and this process produced 118 MWh of renewable energy, contributing to a cleaner future.

People remain at the heart of Submarine’s philosophy. In 2024, Submarine welcomed 188 new team members, with a strong focus on employee development and safety. The highest standards of quality were confirmed through the full implementation of ISO 22000 across all restaurants in Croatia.

In addition, Submarine continues to invest in the community through long-standing support for the Red Noses Clowndoctors association, as well as through its own initiatives — a charitable program supporting children with Down syndrome and a unique free kids’ menu every Sunday in all Submarine restaurants, under the name Kids eat free Sunday.

Submarine continues to lead the way with a clear vision, a bold approach and the belief that food tastes best when it does good. Sustainable growth, people-first values and creating a positive impactremain the foundation of every bite at Submarine.
